I moved to Sitka and all I found was a tiny efficiency
I moved to Sitka in November and I'm still looking for a decent place to live. I'm a non-smoker, non-partier, but I do own two cats and would like to get a dog. I'm looking for a decent two-bedroom place close to downtown (I'm trying to increase my walking so I lose some weight). I'm hoping to find a long-term deal that won't kill me in rent and security deposits. Why is it easier to find a hotel that will accept your pets than a long-term rental? If you have any leads, my home number is 747-1065 and my work number is 966-8504.

hi there,
was wondering how your search for a place to live is going...I was planning to move to Sitka this summer. A good friend of mine lives there and I want to attend nursing school at UA Sitka. It seems there is a housing shortage there. Can you give me an idea of what you have found? I would really appreciate it, we have a dog and need the same, a two bedroom place. Thanks kindly. Monica |

Hi again,
I think you are right about Alaska being beautiful, and my last thread...well to say the least, my mood was pretty bad. I think the job situation is ok..better than the housing situation. There is a report on the Sitka.com website about this very thing which was posted in October, 2004. Good luck, I know it can be scary to move. I live in a beautiful city, but too many people are moving here, ruining the place. ![]() |
