Fellow citizens, I'm asking your help to achieve a rather ambitious undertaking. I intend to develop, with your help a strategy for reducing the influence of special interest money in our elections.
I fully understand that campaign funds are necessary and that is legitimate. However, money that is used to influence a candidates choices to the exclusion of those he represents is not legitimate and should, by maximum effort be neutralized. I believe there must be a way to make a candidate pay for his acceptance of special interest money other than lengthy legislative actions.
One thought is to use a ratio of dollars contributed and the number of contributors. Such that a large dollar value and a small number of contributors would increase the probability of the influence of special interest money. This candidate should be red flagged and put under the bright light of scrutiny; the chances are his interests and yours are not going to be the same.
I define special interest money as that which doesn't promote the general good of our country but instead promotes greed, avarice, deceit and indifference.
I think if we reason together and think outside the box we can develop a strategy to achieve this goal.
Please e-mail me your ideas and suggestions. If you think this is a hair-brained idea please support your objections. Best Regards Ralph…
